Detective Bureau

The Detective Bureau is responsible for conducting investigations into a number of various crimes.  They assist the Patrol Division with major crime incidents, follow-up investigations, and also perform various administrative tasks such as evidence handling and Megan’s Law registrations.

The Detective Bureau is structured with a Lieutenant serving as the Bureau Commander, and a Detective Sergeant who oversee the various operations of the Bureau.  Any Shift Investigator or Detective serving the Bureau has been certified in Crime Scene Investigation, and Interview and Interrogation training.  Detectives rotate on-call status to ensure routine coverage for cases at any time of the day or night.

Detective Bureau Supervisors are also responsible for conducting firearms application background investigations as well as ABC (Alcohol Beverage Control) license background investigations.
