Nixle is a geographically-targeted information system which allows Police Departments, Emergency Management Officials, Schools, and Townships to send information directly to your cell phone or e-mail.
More agencies are signing up each month to participate in this program as their #1 way of getting information out to the public. It is free to agencies, and free to you. All you need to do is register so you can begin receiving alerts and advisories.
What type of information will I receive?

When you sign up for nixle, you allow your nearby cities, townships and boroughs to send you information that applies to your area. This can include alerts such as a terrorist attack, or state of emergency notification. Advisories such as an impending severe storm. Community event announcements. Traffic alerts or road closures such as an accident or construction job causing a detour.
When you receive a geographically-targeted announcement, nixle can automatically link a map with detour information to assist you in getting around closed roads to get to your destination safely. This feature is compatible with mostly all smart phones and internet ready mobile devices.
Signing up is simple: 1.) Register your free nixle account with your location and contact information.
2.) Begin receiving alerts and advisories for that location.
If you have a shore house, or wish to know what’s going on in a family member’s town in California or Florida, you can add these locations and you will receive announcements from that area.
How they do it
Nixle has a unique partnership with Nlets (The International Justice and Public Safety Network). If you are not familiar with Nlets, it is the international, computer-based message switching system that links together local, state and federal law enforcement and justice agencies for the purpose of exchanging information. Police use this network daily to access and transmit sensitive information from the FBI, State Police, 9-1-1 Dispatch Centers etc. It is one of the most secure systems in existence.
Being partnered with nixle, your municipal governments, school districts (including private and parochial schools), county agencies, and many other entities may submit geographically-targeted information and advisories through the secure Nlets network… directly to you.
Clementon Police Department is a participating agency with nixle. We are joined by many other agencies in Camden County including Pine Hill, Voorhees Township, Gloucester Township, Laurel Springs, Cherry Hill Township, and Winslow Township.
