Non-Criminal Justice Fingerprinting Procedures      Effective May 24, 2010

The New Jersey State Police has implemented new procedures for individuals who need fingerprinting services for Firearms, Firefighters (paid), ABC, employment and volunteer related purposes (all categorized as non-criminal justice printing    or “Applicants”)  Applicants are now printed through Morpho Trak Inc (NJ State Vendor) on an electronic “Live Scan” machine.  This significantly reduces the time it takes for applications to be completed.

INSTRUCTIONS

Report to your local Police Department and explain what you need to be fingerprinted for. They will provide you with the appropriate form marked with their agency’s case #.

After you complete the form, you may make your fingerprinting appointment with Morpho Trak Inc.  The prints will be electronically submitted from Morpho Trak Inc to the New Jersey State Police.

Once the New Jersey State Police conducts the check, responses are sent back to your local Police Department electronically.

All forms contain fee information.  Fees are collected by Morpho Trak Inc, not your local Police Department.  Fees may be prepaid using a credit card or electronic check.  If paying the day of fingerprinting, only money orders are accepted.  Bring a blank money order to your appointment if you choose this option.  For more information regarding payments, contact your local Morpho Trak, not the Police Department.

Exceptions: If you are a volunteer Firefighter, contact your local Police Department for information regarding local Live Scan printing procedures.  If you need to be printed by the request of other States or the Federal Government and have cards provided to you by that agency, you may bring them to your local Police Department to be printed.  All other non-criminal justice related requests must be done by Morpho Trak Inc.  For additional information visit this portion of the New Jersey State Police website: http://www.state.nj.us/njsp/about/serv_chrc.html
