Privacy Policy

Clementonpd.com and its redirecting domains, hosted by “The Clementon Borough Police Department” respect the personal information and privacy of each individual who visits our site. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, these individuals are referred to as “Visitors”. This Privacy Policy outlines the information we collect from a visitor, and how it is used.

Information We Collect:

We collect only the information submitted by visitors through the use of several online forms. These forms include but are not limited to “Neighborhood Crimes”, “Narcotics Tips” and “Dangerous Criminals and Gangs”, collectively categorized as “Online Crime Tips.” The extent of the information submitted is completely at the discretion of the visitor. The nature of information submitted is generally: vehicle information or registration, demographic information, names and addresses of people who are suspected to behave in criminal activity, and names, addresses and contact information for the visitor, if they so choose to provide it.

How Information Is Used:

The information submitted through “Online Crime Tips” is used by us to facilitate investigations of suspected criminal activity. Information may be forwarded to other law enforcement agencies if the content suggests that criminal activity crosses jurisdictional boundaries. Depending on the nature of the visitor's submission, we may attempt to contact him/her with the information provided in order to clarify or confirm the accuracy of the content. If the visitor has not provided contact information on the form, the submission will be classified as “anonymous” and no contact to the visitor will be attempted.

Information We Do Not Collect:

We do not collect any identifiable information from visitors who submit a form through the use of an “Online Crime Tips” page, except for the information specifically entered into the form by the visitor.

Information Sharing:

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to third parties personally identifiable information.  We do not use cookies. The following exceptions apply to this section: As prior mentioned, we may share contents of a submission with other law enforcement agencies if the investigation relates to that jurisdiction. We may share information with other state and federal services depending on the nature of a submission such as The Center for Children and Families (formerly DYFS), Federal Bureau of Investigation, New Jersey State Police, SPCA etc.  At our discretion, or if the law requires us to do so, we may share any and all information received by us to other law enforcement entities not specifically described in this policy, for the purposes of conducting an investigation.   

Confidentiality Clause:

All online submissions are viewed as “Confidential” just as if the submissions were provided by a “Confidential Informant” through face to face interaction with the Police. This means that even if the visitor provides his/her personal information, it will not be disclosed to the suspects in a crime, nor will it be disclosed in any official Police Report associated with the investigation.  [ The Police Department can build an entire investigation with the information a confidential informant provides, without ever involving them in the report. ]  This Confidentiality Clause applies to investigations within the Borough of Clementon, however is commonly practiced among all law enforcement agencies.

Security:

All online submissions through an “Online Crime Tips” page are done so through a seamless encrypted JavaScript that transmits the information you enter from our webpage, directly to a corresponding inbox. No third party transmissions are used in this process. This means the information you enter into our forms, does not pass through traditional form service providers across the internet to reach its destination. At no point in time is this information accessed or used by non law enforcement personnel.  Every reasonable effort is made on our part to ensure that sensitive information is protected.

About This Site:

Clementonpd.com, clementonpd.net, and clementonpd.org are registered domains of the Clementon Borough Police Department.  These domains have been registered by MIT (Melbourne IT) and built on Microsoft platforms.  These platforms provide the same security technologies as MSN (The Microsoft Network). Various JavaScript and flash technologies have been designed and embedded into the site for communication and navigation purposes.  Because of this, the most recent edition of Adobe flash player may be needed in order for visitors to utilize all portions of this site.  JavaScript must also be enabled to use the interactive portions of this site.  This website is compatible with mobile devices and smart phones which allow JavaScript.
